WAR OF THE DRAGONS

TALE OF ALISHKA

Alishka

(The Beginning)

Secret Ancient Scriptures tell us that a very powerful entity that is the most loving, giving and compassionate of spirit, blessed Alishka with it’s essence. To this day, we are uncertain of this entity’s true name, but it is spoken of and worshipped often.

The Mother Alishka is the first vampyre as we know them. She is immortal and has always been since the beginning of the creations of the Universes, for Alishka is the Mother vampyre, as we were born from her. Alishka did not need blood to survive, though she did accept it and give it as a gift from those who adored her and to those she adored, which is how she gave birth to her offspring. The taking and the giving of the blood of life is how we came to be. Alishka loved us so, and needed our love to thrive, as we need love to survive. Alishka loved us, and she loves all innocent creatures so that she would protect those who could not protect themselves.

She did not perish in the sun, she did not shy away from holy water, the wooden stake or crosses. And coffins, where we appear to be dead, are the way we hide from unwanted guests and our enemies.



The Dragons

Alishka had a dragon friend, so very long ago, that she had became “one” with. This Dragon, (LeLumr), was slain by his own kind, an evil Dragon named Xiuhcoatl. Alishka had come upon LeLumr on the Land of iLLumr one day as he lie breathing his last breath. Alishka drank from LeLumr’s wounds and then gave the Dragon the gift of her blood and so LeLumr then became an immortal creature. What Alishka did not know at that moment was that she too was given a gift. The gift of Shape Shifter. Alishka was now part Dragon, and could turn into a Dragon at will. LeLumr and Alishka watched over the earth caring for the weak and innocent and lived so happily, until a clan of evil mortals grew more and more. They feared the vampyres strengths of love and life so much that they began to tell horrible lies of death and murder. It was not long until people began to fear the Vampyres and the Dragons, and swore death onto them. Alishka and LeLumr and their Clan was so heartbroken that they went into hiding, becoming invisible to the mortals accept only for when they wish to be seen, and so eventually progressed into spirit form. They both now watch over the Vampryes and Dragons both, helping to guide them on their journey in this hostile world they live in today.

And so here is where our tale continues ..where The Royale Vampyre Clan lives on in the lands of The Royal Vampyre Embassy and iLLumr....

Chapter 1

SISTERS



Seraphina looked out over the land of iLLumr from atop the castle tower, which was located on the Estate of Inception. The wind was strong and bit her soft skin. Her crystal blue eyes formed tears, as she wiped them with her gloved hand. She was wondering if her feelings were causing the tears or was it the sharp wind. She loved the way iLLumr looked under the moon, the way the magical trees glowed and the moonlight sparkled on the waterfall. So much has happened in years gone by that there were times when she would spend the whole day just remembering……

Lightning crashed as the rain came down. The female Dragon with the red shiny scales and green eyes landed looking down at Seraphina questionly. “How is it that you look so very much like me? When I look at you, it is if I am looking in a mirror, other than our skin and eye color and size, we could be identical twins!”

Seraphina laughed and looked up at her sister, “Phoebe! You are always playing and joking around. She got up from the chair and walked over to Phoebe and gave her a big hug on her foreleg. “Where have you been for all these days? Off on one of your adventures no doubt! You always leave me here to take care of this big castle and keep order in the Clan. I think maybe it be my turn to go off on an adventure and leave you here to tend to things! How would you like that!?”

Phoebe hung her head and looked down at the courtyard from atop of the castle tower where her and her sister would sit to have their chats.



You know that is impossible dear sister. My memories fade in and out and the only way I have been able to keep them this long, is from your help. I gave you my memories to keep for me and I gave you a part of my soul. We are as one. The people love and respect you as much as they did me when I was in rule. With my thoughts, memories and heart…you will do just fine taking care of the lands and the Clan. Aleck , Lord of iLLumr with be here to help you and , I will always be here for you, just a thought away when you need me. I will always love you and I have a wonderful place to stay along with the other Dragons at the Isle of Wyrms. This castle will always be my true home Seraphina. I am always here for you..never forget that.

“I wont forget Phoebe, I will never forget you. Don’t you ever forget us either!”

Phoebe turned to look at her sister as she was walking away and said, “ Never!” then she took flight and was gone with the storm.

Phoebe was the one who created Seraphina as she is today. Phoebe had found her on a cliff above the ocean at dusk, when the sun was going down and the sky looked like fire.

It was the very spot that Aliska had found LeLumr centuries ago. She knew then it was destiny.

Sera was near death, and Phoebe drank from her until her heart was about to beat its last time. When she knew the precise moment, Phoebe had cut an incision on her own wrist and allowed the blood to flow into Sera’s mouth. Seraphina was then born a vampire. She rose and cast her

eyes upon Phoebe for the first time. It was amazing how her features began to change and other than the color of eyes and hair, she became a mirror image of Phoebe. This has never happened before, no one had ever taken on the Serae features of their creator, not until now. There was a special bond between Phoebe and Sera.

The moments that Seraphina had with her sister were happy ones. She knew the only reason she lived now was because of Phoebe’s curse and she felt guilty about that. She knew she had a duty to care for the people of the Clan and she was indebted to Phoebe. Sera was immortal and Shape Shifter. The sad thing is, that as a Dragon, one tends to forget the alternate life ties. If we stay a Dragon for extended periods of time, we gradually forget our “Vampyre” past.

She walked the castle tower, thinking about how things came to pass and finally decided to go back inside. She slowly walked downward to the entrance of the castle where there was a huge room with a large fountain in the center the flowed with red colored water, a symbol of the blood of life. She gazed into the red water and suddenly heard a voice, “Sister, How are you?” It has been awhile since I talked to you. I want to come to the castle to visit you, is now a good time?”

Many of the Vampyres and those who are connected to them have the ability to communicate through thoughts. Some are able to communicate directly as though they are in the same room and others can only share “feelings”.

Sera answered to her lil sister Alayah, “Lil Sis! How are you! It is so very good to hear from you. Yes, please do come now! I would love to visit with you!”

Alayah, the shorter sister of the three didn’t look like Phoebe or Seraphina, but she was just as lovely if not lovelier because of her very cute face and sweet childlike personality.

Alayah was much shorter than Sera and Phoebe, thin but shapely. Her hair was always long, but she changed it’s color often. Seraphina looked forward to her visit. It always cheered her up.

Alayah appeared in front of Seraphina filling the room with light and glitter. The Vampyre Clan, who have the power to fly as a dragon, also have the power of teleporting from one place to another.

“Lil Sis, you always make such an entrance!” Seraphina said laughing so hard her side hurt. “Ahhaha, Sister, it is so good to see you, I have missed you so!” Alayah walked over to Seraphina and gave her a big hug. “So Lil one, tell me what you have been up to. Do you have a boyfriend? You must have because I have not heard from you in awhile.” Smiling at her little sister Sera walked over to the couch, “Please sit. Tell me all..I wish to hear!”

They both sat down at the same time, almost sitting on each other. Giggling, they were like kids again. It was always like that when they got together.Alayah went on to tell Sera about what has been happening in her life. She told of a new man in her life and of the business they have started together. She listened as Alayah told all.

It seemed that since the divorce, Alayah had been stalked by a pursuer and had to go into hiding for a while.

They spent the bulk of the day chatting with each other and played some silly games they play when getting together. Sera and Alayah were enjoying their visit when the sisters felt the castle tremble and they heard a very loud screech.

A thick, un-nerving presence was felt by both sisters, and they both became still. Both could hardly breath or move. It lasted but only a moment then all was back to normal.

“Sister, what WAS that!? It is the most dreadful feeling I think I have ever felt!” Tears were welting up in Alayah’s eyes. “Lil Sis, I was hoping to spare you this truth about the Clan and the Embassy. There is a horrible, evil Dragon that is dominating the lands and its inhabitants. This Dragon comes upon us when we least expect it. Even the most powerful of Mages cannot conquer this evil presence. This Dragon is unlike any Dragon any one has ever known. It can come and takes us, pulling us into a different realm where the most horrible things happen. Sometimes it is days before we are released, and find ourselves back here at home again.

This evil Dragon is the reason Phoebe is forever Dragon. I did not want to tell you about this, but the time has come that you must know the truth Lis Sis………………….

Phoebe had tried to defeat this Dragon when it first came upon our lands, but she did not have the power to do so. In their battle, the evil… thing… was about to kill Phoebe, and she had almost killed it too. Much destruction came upon the land. Phoebe was a Vampyre and a Dragon and she possessed magical powers which were not strong enough to destroy the evil she battled. In turn, the Dragon was not strong enough to beat Phoebe either. They came to an agreement after days, perhaps months of battle. The Dragon told Phoebe that she could live, and that the lands and its inhabitants could continue to live on if Phoebe agreed to give up her Vampyre form and remain a Dragon forever. Phoebe had no choice. Her people’s lives were at stake. She was terribly sad, because if the Shape Shifters remain in Dragon form for an extended amount of time they eventually loose all of their memory of their Vampyre life. She agreed to it and asked to be given 1 week, so to prepare things before she became a Dragon forever. The Dark Dragon agreed. Phoebe, heartbroken that she would loose her true self in time, was also relieved for she knew that the lands and those who dwelled in them would be safe, and at least she could visit in her Dragon form. What the force did not know, was Phoebe’s plan to create a likeness of herself to watch over the castle and keep it safe, along with her memories. The Dark Dragon thought that once Phoebe was a Dragon for a while, that she would forget all about the lands, castle, and all who inhabited it and then all would be his. That is where I come in. Phoebe gave me her memories and part of her soul and heart when she created me. I am a part of her. Now I watch over the lands and the Clan along with Aleck. There are days when this presence that haunts us snatches us into another realm, but we are always brought back unharmed. If we could only figure out a way to beat this thing, we would then truly be free to live in peace and harmony.

Alayah sat with her head hung staring at a spider that was running across the floor. She finally knew the truth about what happened to the eldest sister Phoebe, why she was never around very often. Alayah loved Phoebe very much and missed her terribly, but never spoke of her much to Sera because she knew there was a deep burden about Phoebe, she just didn’t know what it was. She had always thought that Phoebe had decided to remain a Dragon of her own free will. Alayah did not know that she was cursed to do so.

“Sera, why do you keep these things from me? Don’t you know that I love you and Phoebe. You are my family! I have a right to know these things and I resent you not telling me! I knew Phoebe before you did!!”

There was an aura of red that surrounded Alayah and Sera knew her little sister was angry!

“Lis Sis, I know how busy you are with your own life, and you have so much going on with your school and your new business, I never wanted to burden you with all this. This problem is my responsibility. You have enough on your plate at this time. And besides,Phoebe made me promise not to tell you. If something should ever happen to me, you will have no choice but to take over this castle and the Clan. So, for now, you should concentrate on getting your life together and not worry about what is going on here. You will have that opportunity all too soon!”

Alayah knew her sister was right, nevertheless, she thought it would be a benefit to at least know about the evil Dragon and what it could or could not do.

“Sera, I know what you say makes sense, but I would like to know more about this “Dragon of Darkness” in case anything does ever happen to you and I am left to deal with things.”

Seraphina looked at Alayah and thought hard for a moment, pacing the floor. “We know it has the power to pull us into another realm. It wipes out entire villages at times, but then they always reappear. It is trickery to terrorize us. It had promised to allow us and the lands to live on but it did not promise it would not mess with us!

“What is his name and what are his weaknesses?”, Alayah asked.

His name is Xiuhcoatl.”

“He has to sleep. Sometimes when you listen carefully and all is still you can hear his breath, like he is asleep. It cannot control our feelings or thoughts. He is impatient and bores easily. He has a short attention span so it is easy to catch it off guard and escape. And last but not least, he has a narrow mind with no imagination which means he hasn’t a clue about the things we are capable of creating or doing.”

Alayah thought to herself that this “force” must be a large dumpy extremely stupid Dragon and should not be hard to defeat. Eilly’s mind started ticking and the wheels were in motion. She could certainly come up with a plan! She knew her sister thought of her as child like, but there was a grown woman underneath this “child”.. a grown woman who was strong and one not to be crossed!

“Thank you Sera, for giving me this information at last. I know how hard things must be for you and I will do what I can to help you. Please promise that you will contact me as soon as you need me, for any reason!”

Sera nodded and replied, “I will Lil Sis, I promise. Now you should get back to your life and don’t worry about things here. We are fine at this time and I will contact you should that change.”

Alayah smiled at her older sister and thought to herself, “Yes… things will be fine. I will make sure of that!”

“Yes Sister, I will be on my way now. Kasrid just contacted me and said he needs my help so I must go now. I love you and please give Phoebe a hug for me if you see her. Tell her I miss and love her and want to see her again.”

“I will tell her that Lil Sis, goodbye and take care and keep in touch! Now Shoo!!”

Sera and Alayah hugged each other goodbye and then Alayah grabbed her teddy bear and was gone..poofed!

Sera walked back outside looking out across iLLumr thinking how odd her sister sounded, almost ….amused.

She gazed out across the lands behind the castle as she watched Aleck, Lord of iLLumr, working away at the wonderful Cathedral he was building and wondered what his plans for iLLumr were and what would become of the two groups that were about to join forces. The thought of it thrilled her and it was going to be wonderful having someone to work together with. Maybe now, this terrible evil that has darkened our doors, can be defeated with the help of our new friends.

Chapter 2

ALECK

(Lord of iLLumr)

Aleck Rivera finished putting the floor of the Cathedral down and stepped back to have a look. He was proud of how the lands were coming together nicely and glad that his neighbor Seraphina was easier to get along with than the neighbors on the bordering lands.

He had worked very hard on this territory and it showed. The land of iLLumr was mystical and very beautiful. It had been Aleck’s dream to create a land for all mystical beings. A place of peace where one could come and rest or just enjoy the beauty. Mere words could never describe the feeling of serenity the land of iLLumr gives you when you are there.

There are colorful trees that glow in the night and day, trees that sway in the gentle breeze. There are sparkling waterfalls, magical mushrooms, and a Cathedral with a floor that reflects all. The textures and colors are glorious.

There is a dance floor high in the sky for the merry makers, and a drum circle on the ground for those who want to be one with the earth. Indeed, iLLumr , in itself, is a mystical kingdom.

Aleck gazed down at the mirrored floor looking at his refection. His hair was to the middle of his back and as dark as the night. His eyes sparkled of blue and he was tall and slender, but yet muscular built. He was a very handsome man indeed and all the ladies from kingdoms around competed for his attentions but these competitions were all in vain. His heart has been given to a lady from a far away land. He missed his Lady, but that is another story.

Aleck was not immortal, but he had the ability to live a very long time. He had been adopted by Galidor, wizard of Valaxzar back before the Dark Vampyres had taken over the land. Upon the death of Galidor, he had found refuge among the people of iLLumr. The people there learned to love him and had made him their Lord. It is there that Arakax, the mighty warrior who no one could defeat, taught him how to battle. Arakax and Aleck became very good friends and were like brothers.

With the powers of wizardry and the skills of battle, Aleck was a very powerful man indeed, beyond his own comprehension, and his destiny was just beginning.

He had thought long and hard about joining his people with Seraphina’s people. He knew that uniting would make both sides stronger and save on resources. With the evil darkness that had come upon all the lands from kingdoms around, it was important for his people to grow their forces.

He walked to the entrance of the Cathedral and looked out across the lands. He thought about what needed to be done with the groups and how he was going to organize everyone’s role to where the force of the groups would be the most strong. The Darkness was becoming more powerful with each passing day. He had no idea how he was going to even begin to defeat this powerful mass of foredoom, but with the help of the Royale Vamprye/Dragons.. now at least he has more hope than he had previously. He looked over to the castle and saw Seraphina standing there and he waved. She returned his wave and then she turned and walked back inside.

Chapter 3

THE EARTHQUAKE
Sera awoke in the dungeon with a feeling of uneasiness. The castle began shaking and there was a

strong vibration in the air. She saw the moonlight on the grass just outside the small window of the

sleeping room. She got up and raced up the stairs and went to the entrance of the castle. The walls and

floors were cracking and her pictures fell to the floor and busted. The fountain split in half and the red

water spilled out across the floor.

Sera ran outside and her heart raced as she looked all around trying to find the source of the damage that was ruining the lands. She saw nothing and she began to change form. She felt her fingers getting long and the claws forming as her legs grew larger, longer, massive. She was taking on her dragon form and felt the heat inside her, like a raging fire. She took flight. Her eyesight was very good as a Vampyre but as a Dragon, she could see even better. Fire shot from her powerful jaws as she flew in the darkness of the night. Releasing the fire from her jaws helped release her anger. She flew over iLLumr and saw the Cathedral that Aleck built crumble as if some large invisible foot had come down on it. She roared, which did not help matters because her roars shook the lands that much more. At this point it did not matter, everything was coming down all around. The castle all came down in a ton of stone and wood. Her beautiful castle that was passed down from Aliska for her to keep. All rubbish now. Seraphina was furious and landed in the middle of what used to be the dining room. The place smelled of destruction. All the glowing trees at iLLumr were gone too. Everything,except the crypt was lost. She didn’t know what to do so she took flight again and headed for the Isle of Wyrm were she would look for Phoebe. Somehow the agreement had been broken and Sera wanted to find out why.

On her way to the Isle of Wyrm she cried out into the night focusing her mind on Aleck.

With her mind, she called out to him. The people below looked up gasping, though not from fear because they knew the Black & Red One was not evil, she was, in fact, magnificent to look upon.

Aleck was sound asleep when his eyes suddenly shot open. He heard the most piercing screech and his heart felt like someone was tearing it out. He thought of Seraphina. The man with the blue eyes quickly got dressed and headed for the Cathedral. When he arrived he saw nothing around him but a massive heap of what used to be a beautiful Cathedral. He then moved his eyes to where the castle used to stand and nothing was there but a pile of stone and wood. His mind went back to Seraphina and he looked up to the sky. There was nothing but blackness.

The dark thing swept thru the air over the lands of Inception where the Royale Vampyre Clan and iLLumr existed, causing a thick uneasiness. The great wall of dense darkness caused all to come to a stop and everything began to vibrate, and tremble with violence. The Dark Dragon was showing no mercy and intended to bring all down, destroying everything that iLLumr and the Royale Vampyres stood for. Nothing would be spared, not even the Black Dragon Statues that stood above the lands. The air heavy with dust and debris gave neighboring lands the impression that the doomed lands were on fire and so they were. The wind became strong, people and things that lived ran screaming. A small child that had fallen felt the running feet on it’s little hands until a strong man with dark hair lifted the child up and ran with it. He found the child’s whimpering mother and gently handed the child to her and she kissed his hand thanking him.

The young man with long black hair that was created to impress Phoebe had done his job well. The red Dragon was enchanted and could not resist the taste of the fruit. The task was done and now all will be for the evil darkness to take. Xiuhcoatl had lived since the beginning of time. Now that the agreement had been broken, it was up to him to take what was his, what was owed to him by Alishka. Alishka had deceived him years ago and now he would have his revenge against her. Nothing or no one would be spared.

Xiuhcoatl raged thru the town laughing and roaring and focused on a couple of bystanders freezing them in their tracks. Some of the people just dissolved into particles. Some of the buildings came tumbling down while others just disappeared. The world was changing all around. There was no more bright lights and shining oceans. There was no more free movement. All communication was muffled. Some of the residents could communicate, but it wasn’t clear or easy. Grief was felt everywhere, and heavily. Death was upon all. Time stood still.

Chapter 4

ISLE OF WYRM



Sera landed at the entrance of the great Cathedral on the Isle of Wyrm. She slowly made her way into the large opening where there were a couple of Dragons in conversation. One of the Dragons was Phoebe. Sera walked over to her sister and nodded to the other Dragon, Murdock.

Phoebe looked at Sera for a moment and hesitated, “Sera?” Sera changed her form back to human.

“Yes Phoebe, it is I. I am here because something horrible has happened.”

Phoebe looked at Murdock then back at Sera. “Horrible?, What could be more horrible than my cookies being gone!? This big lummox here has stolen all my cookies and I fear he has eaten every last one of them!”

“Phoebe, we have more to worry about than mere cookies! What has happened to you? Is this all you do and just hang out here and eat cookies and argue with other Dragons?”

Have you forgotten what you are and where you come from?”

Sera stopped short before she said another word. Of course she had forgotten, or if she hasn’t, she was very close to it.

“Sera, yes, there is more I do than just sit around here. I did recently go to the local pub and just for a moment, I remembered what it is like to be in human form. There was a nice gentleman that was so very handsome, and I wanted a kiss. It was so wonderful! I had forgotten how wonderful feeling for a man can be! I didn’t stay in human form very long. I ran away and became Dragon again.”

Sera looked up at her sister with her crystal blue sad eyes. “ My dear sister, you have no idea what you have done do you? I guess you have forgotten the ‘agreement’ along with your other memories. That is something we did not think of happening! You do know you are required to stay in Dragon form, you just don’t remember why. “No, Sera, I do not remember. All I know is that I am suppose to be a Dragon, but I didn’t think a short moment of being in human form would hurt.” Phoebe looked down at her sister with sad innocent eyes. Sera looked deep into Phoebe’s big green eyes and saw her soul and felt her sorrow.

“Phoebe, I know it must be hard, and I will try to refresh your memory as best as I can. You gave me your memories to keep safe so they would not be forever lost. And so I remind you from time to time so this will not happen again.

Sera went on to tell Phoebe of all that has come to pass and Phoebe hung her head low to her sister as she listened to all.

“I am so very sorry Sera, yes, I do remember now why I am Dragon and should remain so. What I have done is signed the death warrant for our people. I have done a horrible thing. We must think of what we can do to fix this.”

Murdock was close by listening to all that was said. He felt bad about the situation and slowly offered Phoebe some cookies with a loud belch. “Dig, I will do what ever I can do to help you and your people. Us Dragons have to stick together!” Phoebe bowed her head to Murdock. “I know Mur, you are a dear friend.”

Sera looked around sensing something. “Aleck is coming. I had called out to him on my way here and he is close.”

All three looked at the entrance of the Cathedral and in strolled the blue eyed handsome man.

“Sera, you have been keeping secrets from me. Who is this handsome gentleman?” Phoebe shuffled closer to Aleck.

“Down Girl, he is taken, or I should say his heart is spoken for. Aleck, this is my sister I told you of, Phoebe, and that is her friend Murdock. Phoebe and Mur, this is Aleck, my land partner and friend.”

Aleck bowed to the pair of Dragons. “I am glad to finally meet you Phoebe, and you Murdock. Sera has told me much about you. It is my honor.”

Phoebe snorted and said, “Not if you knew what I have done. That will certainly change your tune when you get a load of this my dear Aleck handsome man!”

Phoebe started munching one of the cookies Murdock had given back to her.

“Quiet Phoebe, I will tell Aleck what happened and it is not your fault, it is all part of that blasted curse!”

Aleck looked blankly at Sera and thought for a moment, “I think I have a pretty good idea of what has happened here. You told me of the curse and I do not know why this has not happened already. Phoebe has really held on and done well so very long. It is our fault that we have not kept the memory fresh for her. Sure, you have her memories, but, it was a sure thing that she would eventually forget the reason she was to stay Dragon forever. The Darkness was counting on that, and we just let time slip to long without reminding Phoebe. At any rate, We cannot dwell on what has come to pass. We must rebuild and we must do something to lift this damn curse. There is no reason we should expect Phoebe to remain Dragon forever. Even though she does enjoy being the Dragon, she also enjoys the vampire feelings and experiences as well. We will find a way to kill the Dark presence. We MUST find a way!

Phoebe offered Aleck a cookie and batted her eyes at him and licked him lightly.

“Phoebe!, Stop flirting!” Sera rolled her eyes.

“I cant help it Sera!, he is cute!”

Aleck busted out laughing loudly and the rest joined in. The Cathedral at the Isle of Wyrm shook and it was not

from an earthquake, it was from laughter.

Chapter 5

THE RE-BUILDING



A very long time ago there were those who remembered what the other realm was like and have written documents describing their experiences. These documents have been stored away in a safe place where no one would ever think to look, for these documents have the very secret that is needed to defeat the evil. That secret is kept among those who are sacred. They wait for the one who is destined to rise and defeat the presence that plagues the lands.

Those who have the secret, must be kept in a safe zone, in a sacred and safe place where evil is banned and peace dwells. The secret is to be untouched, until the time has come for the one who is destined to free the lands of the dark presence is born.

The darkness knows of this secret and has been searching for it for a very long time. It is believed that there will come a time, when the secret will be in the hands of the one who is destined to destroy Xiuhcoatl, who has his own secret too. And it lies in the heart of one who flies with the spirit of Alishka.

The large coffin was intact with no damage. It was amazing and Sera was relieved. She placed her hands on the coffin and closed her eyes. She saw in her mind Alishka smiling at her and Alishka spoke. “My dear Seraphina, my daughter. I am so proud of you and of Phoebe. Look to the heart of the one who fly’s with my spirit and you will find the secret to rid the Darkness from the lands.”

Sera bowed her head and asked, “Mother Aliska, why is it that you cannot just tell me the secret so that we can defeat this plague? Why must it be a mystery?”

“My dear Seraphina, the secret lives within you, and it lives within the heart of the spirit who fly’s with me. You have the power, you have the ability. Only you can discover it within yourself and then you will know what must be done.” Then she was gone.

Sera thought about Alishka’s words and decided she would have to spend a great deal of time alone seeking to find the answer. But for now, there was work to be done. She and her people had to come together to re-build the empire. She had to find Aleck so they could make plans together. She headed for Lunindar where Aleck spent most of his time.

“Sera, I was just thinking of you!” Sera looked up into Aleck’s beautiful eyes and smiled…she had the most strange feeling, looking at him, she did not know what it was about him that had her so ….mesmerized. She quickly shook her feelings away and got down to business.

“I know, I felt it. I came to ask you if you have any ideas on what to do about the reconstruction of the empires.” I was just thinking about getting my people together to gather the parts of the structures that we can use to rebuild. There is so much to do. I am over whelmed.”

I know Sera, and I have good news! I have had a proposition from the people of Lunindar. Come, I have something to show you.”

Sera followed Aleck outside and across the garden.

“Look out across the lands an up on that mountain. How would you like for the castle to reside there? We could rebuild here, have the Cathedral, a garden with a drum circle, a sky dance…all these wonderful things. It is so the people of Lunindar can keep the kingdom. There has been a hardship fall upon my friends of the kingdom here and they need our support, and we need theirs. It is a win win situation for all of us! What do you think Sera?”

Sera heard the excitement in Aleck’s voice and saw the twinkle in his eye. Indeed it was a win win situation and the land here looked so very beautiful. Much more so than where they were before.

“Oh, Aleck…I don’t know…I am not sure I will like it here….”

Aleck’s face relaxed and he had a somber look on his face.

“Oh..geez..I cannot joke like this with you my dear friend ..Yes! Aleck! Oh my but this place…it is so beautiful! I would love to rebuild here! I don’t even have to think about it. When can we start?”

Aleck smiled at Sera and said, “ Now my dear friend, we start now!”

So the plan was in the works and all the peoples formed together and it was not long when the Cathedral and the Castle was up and they looked grand. Aleck worked in the garden and created the sky dance. Later he put the Cathedral up in the sky for the Dragons, and built an additional castle for his home and workshop.

There was a cave under Sera’s castle for her when she was in Dragon form and for Phoebe.

Out to the left of the castle was a graveyard and under it was a hidden ‘walk in’ crypt for ‘Alishka and LeLmur’.

Sera spent a lot of time putting the castle back in order and creating signs for the entrances. She also created paintings to hang for sale in Aleck’s castle and in the Cathedral. Everything was even better than before and the people were very happy here. At the time all this was going on, Xiuhcoatl was plotting his next move.

Xiuhcoatl

Xiuhcoatl rested on top of the big mountain where he resided in his cave in the land of Valaxzar. It had been so many

years since he had flown with the Keepers of the lands. He had been one of the Keepers himself until Alishka turned the

others against him. She had not agreed to his plan to make the Keepers rulers and allow all Dragons to keep the wealth

of the lands amongst them. The Dragons also would have had power to do as they saw fit with all the lands of the

Vampyres. All the Vampyres would have to do was bow down to them and do their bidding and they would never have to

want for anything again. Stupid Vampyres!! Alishka had done the forbidden thing and merged her powers with one of the

Keepers and now a new species had been born. A species is undefeatable by Xiuhcoatl.

Xiuhcoatl had a plan of his own. There were a few of the Dragons who stood by his side and there were a few Vampyres who had believed in his plan and wanted the leisure of having the Dragons rule over them. All they need to do is bring them humans to do the work for them. Humans could be strong and many were good with their hands. As far as Xiuhcoatl was concerned, humans were like mules or cattle. Slaves and food is what they were! Xiuhcoatl gathered his troops of Keepers together to have a meeting with the forgotten Vampyres. The ones who had turned against Alishka and her family. They called themselves Sanguinius.

“My children, so it has come to be that the young human male we sent to visit the red Dragon has done his duty. We shall have a special event this evening. It has come to my attention that what we need is to strengthen our power. It is but a minor task, something I should have done a long time ago I now know.”

The group of Sanguinius cheered with greed in their eyes.

“Silence!!” Xiuhcoatl roared angerly.

The Vampyres quieted to a slight mummer looking eagerly up at their ferocious leader.

“I have decided that in order to do this, we must create more of us, more shape shifters. With the power to become dragon and vampire, we shall defeat the Alishka breed and rule the kindoms as we see fit! It was Alishka who first merged the power of Vampyre with Dragon to create this new shape shifter species. It is Alsihka’s offspring who shall pay for it and pay for it dearly!”

The crowd was in a frenzy as they all were in a mass of bodies and blood, feeding on each other in a orgy of passion. Xiuhcoatl smiled with a sneer and crept back into the shadows.

And so it began. The Dark Keepers and the Sanguinius celebrated well into the night. Feeding on one another, changing, shape shifting. They played games, toyed with each other, the two species who were now one species. The Dark Keepers would impale each other only to keep living. Being impaled would have been the death of them if it were not for the blood of the vampire that flowed thru them. And in turn, the Sanguinius would change into Dragon and take flight into the night making terrifying roars that shook the ground. It was a sight to behold, and Aleck was getting his eyes full of it all. Aleck had decided that in order to beat Xiuhcoatl, he had to do some research. What he saw before him on this night terrified him. He knew there was going to be a war. A war that could possible destroy all living things and the world as it is now. A great feeling of doom washed over him and he wept. Aleck heard the brush rustling behind him and he grabbed his sword on impulse. The rabbit hopped quickly past him and into the night and Aleck smiled a little. He was not prepared for the sudden embrace of the woman who had been following him. She sunk her teeth deep into his neck and he felt himself fall into submission and rise to ecstasy. She felt so warm and soft pressed next to him and her kiss of death felt sweeter yet. He let go. She lowered him gently to the ground as he slipped away. His eyes were like glass, a dull blue and his heart beat slowed to a near stop. Isadora quickly ripped open her wrist with her teeth and fed her blood to Aleck. The droplets of blood slowly trickled into his slightly open mouth. He lay still for a moment and then without warning he jerked to life quickly and grasped her arm and bit hard into her wrist. He consumed her and she laughed a wicked laugh then slapped him hard across the face and he looked at her. His eye were glowing a pale blue. “Welcome to the family my sweet. The Sanguinius welcome you with open arms.” Aleck glared at her as he walked slowly to her, then a smile can across his face and he bent down to kiss his new bride.
